Rumour: Mathys Boisrame to fill in at Factory KTM?

At the end of last week we heard from a reliable source that Mathys Boisrame was in talks with Factory KTM who have been on the lookout for a fill in rider. The French rider has now been spotted riding the KTM so there’s a very good chance he’ll start the MXGP season under the factory KTM awning.

Coming into Matterley Basin there was a lot of speculation with regards Antonio Cairoli but the Italian has now clearly decided against filling in and starting the MXGP season with Factory KTM. It left the Austrian brand on the look out for another fill in rider and it looks like they’ve decided to give Mathys Boisrame a very big opportunity.

With Matterley Basin postponed until this weekend there’s a good chance that the French talent will race the opening round now so the postponement might have done him a favour.  If for whatever reason he doesn’t line up in the UK then you can expect him to race the second round at Mantova.

It remains to be seen if Boisrame will race the entire MXGP season with Factory KTM or only until Jeffrey Herlings makes his return to racing but some good results for the French talent certainly won’t do his chances any harm.

We will continue to keep you updated as and when we hear more.
