Race results: MXGP World Championship RD4 – Prado wins Arco di Trento

Race One: There was drama around the first corner of the opening MXGP moto as a pile up saw a host of riders down including Febvre and Herlings which meant they had to recover from the very back. At the front, Prado had a dream race with total control. It was a Spanish 1-2 until the last lap before Ruben Fernandez made a costly mistake gifting Maxime Renaux second who himself didn’t get the best of starts. Herlings came from the back all the way to ninth and 25 seconds off Prado so he clearly has the speed to run at the front. Febvre ended up twelfth.

Race Two: It was Jorge Prado leading the way on the first lap but this time Maxime Renaux and Romain Febvre were there on the first lap – it was on at the front. Renaux huffed and puffed but couldn’t find away past the GasGas rider meanwhile Herlings was on the move. Herlings passed Fernandez and Febvre and then put on a charge – it was the best speed he’s shown so far this year catching, passing Prado and Renaux before pulling away at the front. Renaux followed through to pass Prado for second but Prado won his first GP of the year. Herlings second moto race win was enough for third overall with Fernandez fourth despite a crash in each race.
