450cc race results: AMA Nationals RD5 – RedBud – Tomac wins

After taking a good start in the opening race, there was no stopping Eli Tomac as he led from start to finish. His main championship threat, Chase Sexton didn’t have a good start but worked his way through to second. Around the first corner, Jason Anderson hit the deck having to come from dead last but he worked his way through to seventh.

Joey Savatgy had a great riding finishing a brilliant third on his Factory Kawasaki ahead of Ken Roczen.

It was going well for Max Anstie during his first AMA National race of the year on his Honda debut looking strong in sixth but then had a bike issue forcing a DNF which means he’ll have a terrible gate pick for race two.

In the second moto it was Ken Roczen who held the early lead but Eli Tomac didn’t take too long to get himself in the lead and control things at the front – a superb day for the Star Yamaha rider. Sexton will be frustrated with his starts but was able to work his way up to another strong second.
